All of our classes taking place in the London shop from Autumn 2020, and for the foreseeable future, will be held on Sundays.
The rest of the shop is closed on Sundays and the workshops will be held on our middle floor where there is wonderful space to spread out and have the windows open for fresh air and great light.
The class will have a maximum of 6 students. You will be able to shop in the shop as well if you would like. It should be really lovely!

With Richard McVetis

We are very excited to also be able to bring you this workshop via ZOOM at times throughout the year.  Richard uses a variety of media including drawing, installation and textiles to explore our perception of space and time. Look out for future dates where it is taught on zoom. Our next workshop takes place in our London shop.

Sunday October 4th 2-6pm - this will be held at the shop on Sunday.

WHEN BOOKING A CLASS ONLINE, OTHER THAN BY CALLING THE SHOP, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL IN THE 'NOTES' PART OF THE ORDER. MANY THANKS.

In this workshop participants will explore a combination of traditional hand embroidery techniques, how you do it, and why you do it. We will explore the slowness and rhythms of hand stitching; the versatility and strengths of embroidery for drawing and mark-making; and the pleasure in having time to make.
Create textures and patterns, work a stitch in different threads changing its scale and spacing, work freely, and combine stitches to mark make and draw. Practical help will be given by demonstrating the many ways in which this can be achieved using the most simple of hand embroidery techniques, no knowledge of particular and precise embroidery techniques are needed.

We will explore the following stitches: straight / running / couching / whipped + laced

You will need:
Fabric - cotton, linen or wool, or anything you might you want to stitch on (nothing too tightly woven)
A range of threads
Embroidery/ sewing needles
Scissors
An embroidery hoop

100% deposit is required at registration.
